MUMBAI, August 11, 2026: A late-night road-rage confrontation in Mumbai’s Bandra West turned violent after a 39-year-old fitness trainer was allegedly assaulted by a group of men, while the windows of his SUV were damaged during the incident. The confrontation took place around midnight on Saturday near Bandra Talao, according to police and reports.
The victim, identified as Arjunjit Garewal, was travelling with his wife when the dispute reportedly escalated following a road-related altercation. Police said the couple’s vehicle was allegedly chased and intercepted by another SUV carrying several men. The attackers then reportedly surrounded Garewal’s vehicle and began assaulting him.
Dispute Escalates Into Physical Assault
According to the complaint, the confrontation began after an alleged traffic-related disagreement. What initially appeared to be a road-rage dispute quickly escalated when the other vehicle followed Garewal’s SUV.
Police said the suspects allegedly stopped the vehicle and confronted the fitness trainer. Garewal was reportedly punched and kicked during the altercation. One of the attackers allegedly attempted to strike him with a steel baseball bat, while another used a hockey stick to damage the windows of his SUV.
The incident became particularly alarming because Garewal’s wife was still inside the vehicle when the windows were allegedly smashed. Reports said the couple were left shaken by the confrontation.

The alleged attackers reportedly used hockey sticks and baseball bats during the confrontation, turning a traffic dispute into a serious public-safety incident.
According to the police complaint, the men allegedly damaged multiple windows of the SUV before leaving the location. The use of sports equipment as weapons has added to concerns surrounding the level of violence involved in the incident.
