Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has told all the night shelters in Mumbai to stay open all the time that is twenty four hours a day and seven days a week. This is because of the cold weather we are having and the cold nights. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation wants to help the people and the people who are vulnerable so they do not get too cold. The night shelters will help protect the people and the vulnerable populations, from the cold weather.
The people in charge of the city said that they told the shelters to make sure they have blankets, warm beds and hot food for everyone. They especially want to make sure people have these things at night and early in the morning when it is really cold. They are paying attention to the civic officials said that elderly people, kids and people, with health problems like civic officials mentioned, because the civic officials stated that these people can get very sick when it is cold.
The BMC teams and the social welfare volunteers are going to do night patrols in areas that’re not very safe. They will help the homeless people find shelters that’re close by. The authorities want to make sure that the homeless people can go to these shelters. They said that nobody should be stopped from going into a shelter during this time.
