The Shiv Sena led by Shinde has gone to the Bombay High Court because they do not agree with the election nomination of Kishori Pednekar. Kishori Pednekar is a leader from the other Shiv Sena group which is led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray. She used to be the mayor of Mumbai.
This is happening when everyone is getting ready for the 2026 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections that will take place on January 15. The Shiv Sena led by Shinde is really against the election nomination of Kishori Pednekar, from the Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray.
On January 12 2026 Shiv Sena spokesperson Susie Shah filed a petition. She went to a bench of the High Court. This bench was headed by Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad. Susie Shah said that Pednekars nomination form should not be accepted. It should be rejected.
The main reason for this is that Pednekar did not give all the details. She did not talk about some information reports and cases, against her. These reports and cases were pending when she filled out her nomination form and affidavit. Shiv Sena spokesperson Susie Shah thinks Pednekar did this on purpose. She thinks Pednekar deliberately left out these details. The petition says that not including this information breaks the rules that candidates have to follow when they are running in elections. Shah, who has an advocate named Kalpesh Joshi wanted the court to hear his case away because the civic elections are coming up soon. He did not have a lot of time left.. The High Court said no to hearing his case immediately. The court said that since there are a few days left before the elections it is not a good idea to hear the case now.
The judges said they will hear the case after the elections are over. This means the elections will go on without the court getting involved now.
