Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has made a strong statement promising that there will be no split in the Marathi vote in the upcoming civic elections. Although he stopped short of officially announcing an alliance with Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Uddhav emphasized that both leaders are united in protecting the interests of Marathi people and Mumbai.
Speaking recently, Uddhav said, “Raj Thackeray and I already came together on July 5 and will remain together to protect Marathi and Mumbai when it’s being attacked.” His comments come at a time when political parties are strategizing to consolidate the Marathi vote bank, a crucial factor in civic polls across Maharashtra.
While formal alliance talks remain under wraps, Uddhav’s assurance signals a united front against any forces that may try to divide the Marathi community’s political strength. Both the Shiv Sena and MNS have a strong base in Mumbai and surrounding areas, making cooperation between the two a significant factor in the electoral battle ahead.
