
Navi Mumbai, July 3 2026: A woman who was 23 years old and eight months pregnant and her unborn baby died after she got very sick from injections she got at the Rajmata Jijau Municipal Hospital in Airoli. This hospital is run by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation. People are saying that the hospital did not take care of her. The family of the woman and some political workers are protesting. The civic body is also looking into this matter seriously.
The woman who died was named Sonam Karan Dongre. She went to the hospital on June 30 to get checked because she was pregnant. Another woman who was pregnant Richa Mishra was also at the hospital. Got sick after she got some treatment. The people in charge of the hospital said that both women got an injection and then they got very sick after they got an injection on July 1. Dongre died after she was taken to another hospital to get care. Mishra is now at Fortis Hospital. She is getting better.
The family says the hospital was slow to help.
Dongre’s husband, Karan Dongre said that he and his wife went to the hospital for a check-up. The doctors told them that she should stay in the hospital. He said that his wife got very sick soon after she got the injection between noon and 1 pm on July 1.
The family is saying that the hospital did not tell them what was wrong with her. They also did not let them take her to another hospital away. The family says that the hospital staff kept telling them that everything was okay even when she was getting sicker. The people looking into this matter will check if these things are true.
Dongre was taken to the NMMC Public Hospital in Vashi. She died within an hour. Her family did not want to take her body at first. They wanted the hospital to do a check to see what happened to her.
