Mumbais Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport had a lot of problems on July 6 because of the monsoon rain and strong winds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This made IndiGo, Air India, Akasa Air and SpiceJet tell their passengers to be careful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airlines said there would be delays and flights might be sent to airports or the time of departure and arrival might change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is because it was hard to see and the roads to the airport were flooded, which made it tough for the airport to work properly and for passengers to move around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The India Meteorological Department said there would be very heavy to heavy rainfall in Mumbai and the areas around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This made the airport have problems all day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 flights were. More than 200 flights were delayed because of the bad weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Airlines want passengers to check their flight status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IndiGo told passengers going to or from Mumbai to check their flight status before they leave for the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said the weather might change the time of the flights and that the roads to the airport were crowded which would make passengers late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Air India also told passengers to be careful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They said passengers should leave earlier than usual and keep checking the status of their flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said the heavy rain was causing problems not at the airport but also in the city, where the roads were flooded and it was hard to move around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Akasa Air said the heavy rain in Mumbai might make their flights late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They told passengers to check their flight status before they leave for the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline said they were trying to help passengers who were affected by the weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This causes a lot of problems for flights within India and flights to countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SpiceJet warned passengers that the bad weather might cause problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline told passengers to keep checking their flight status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They said that even if the airline warns passengers it does not mean all flights will be cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers should be ready for changes in the time of boarding changes in the gate delays in getting their bags or changes in their connections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problems are not just at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The roads and trains in Mumbai are also having problems because of the flooding and the rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This makes it hard for passengers to get to the airport. It is hard to know when the flights will leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What passengers should do before they travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers who have flights from Mumbai should check their flight status times, including before they leave their house and when they get to the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They should leave earlier than usual carry medicines and documents in their carry-on bags and make sure they get messages from the airline on their phones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a passengers flight is late or cancelled they should call the airline to change their flight get a refund or get credit for their ticket depending on the rules of the fare and the airlines policy for weather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a passenger has a connecting flight and they think they will miss it they should tell the airline soon as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather forecast says it will keep raining so the flight schedules might change at any time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airlines and the airport are saying the thing: check the latest information about your flight leave earlier, than usual and do not go to the airport unless you have to until you get an update that you can trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
