Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid tributes to Guru Tegh Bahadur. He said that the Sikh Gurus martyrdom made Indias spiritual foundations stronger. It also reminded the nation that we are committed to freedom and human dignity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a message the Prime Minister described Guru Tegh Bahadur as a spiritual leader. He chose to die to protect the rights and beliefs of others. “Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji lived for truth, justice and freedom of faith. His life and sacrifice inspire us today ” Modi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guru Tegh Bahadur is a symbol of freedom. He is revered in Sikh history as “Hind Di Chadar” or the Shield of India. In 1675 he gave his life in Delhi to defend the rights of Kashmiri Pandits. They were being forced to change their religion. His execution took place at a place now known as Sis Ganj Sahib. It is an important Sikh shrine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister said that Guru Tegh Bahadurs sacrifice was not just for one community. It was for the values that’re important for all humans. “He believed that everyone has the right to practice their faith without fear. This message is still very relevant today ” Modi noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guru Tegh Bahadur taught us to be kind, humble, brave and devoted to what’s right. His spiritual songs are in the Guru Granth Sahib. They show understanding and strong faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister said that Indias culture is based on unity and harmony. Guru Tegh Bahadurs sacrifice made these ideals stronger. “The martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji made Indias spiritual foundations stronger. It showed that protecting others rights is our duty ” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Leaders from all parties and Sikh groups paid homage to Guru Tegh Bahadur. Special prayers were offered at gurdwaras. Devotees gathered at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib to remember the Gurus courage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sikh organizations had kirtans, community service and educational events. Many said that his martyrdom was a turning point in history. It reminded us to stand up against injustice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Prime Minister asked citizens, the youth to learn from Guru Tegh Bahadurs life. His legacy teaches us to be morally strong and stand up against oppression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
