The idea is to have a visible deterrent to help prevent theft, chain-snatching, pickpocketing, and other street crimes that generally see a rise during periods of festive shopping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This security strategy, according to officials, includes more foot patrols, mobile police vans, and quick-response teams positioned at a variety of strategic locations.
