Strategic Location and Design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Located just opposite the road from NMIA, Targhar Railway Station is set to be a key transit point. The design of the station includes a roof in the shape of a wave, inspired by the creek running nearby, and covers a space of 10,600 square meters. With a maximum allowable height of 30 meters, the station is envisaged to have scope for future vertical growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Infrastructure and Amenities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The station is being constructed by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) at an estimated cost of \u20b9112 crore. It would have three island platforms and two end platforms, each 270 meters long and 12 meters wide. Amenities for passengers include subways for cross-platform travel, escalators, multi-level connectivity, and exclusive parking space at all four corners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Multimodal Connectivity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Targhar Railway Station is envisioned as a multimodal transit hub that will bring together different modes of transit to enable convenient transfers for commuters and travelers alike. The station will provide airport shuttle service, retail space for daily commuter essentials, and provision for future connectivity, such as an airport skytrain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Progress and Timeline<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n As of September 2025, the station has entered final stages of preparation, with the structure ready and passenger facilities fitted. CIDCO and Central Railway authorities are waiting to conduct final inspections to announce the opening date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The opening of Targhar Railway Station is a major milestone towards improving connectivity to the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
